We understand that the music can make or break a party, which means we as the band are one of the most important factors in your event. To help you out here are some questions and answer:
How would you describe your style?
We have all played in bands spanning the range of swing, jazz, be-bop, rock, and pop. Although we love all this music, we are children of the rock and roll era, and so naturally our closest affinity is to rock, blues, and soul.
Can I come to hear you?
We specialize in private events, but please give us a call and we try to accommodate this request at one of our public gigs, or to have you as a guest at one of our private events.
Does the band use amps, etc.?
Yes, but we try very hard to maintain a balanced sound that is within a comfortable listening volume for the majority of attendees at any event. We understand our role in creating a party atmosphere, yet not be so loud that you have to constantly ask us to turn down.
Can you play a requested song, like a traditional tune or favorite pop hit?
We have hundreds of songs to choose from for your event, but if you have a specific song you would like to hear, please let us know in advance. We probably know the song, but if not, we will have it ready for your event. Give us a call and let’s discuss your needs.
How many musicians are in the band? Do you do vocals? What are the options as far as how many musicians/instruments we can hire?
We are principally a quintet comprised of Keyboards, Guitar, Saxophone, Bass Guitar, and Drums, and all five of us sing. However, we have the ability to play anywhere from a duo to a full Big Band. We also have the ability to limit vocals or go strictly instrumental. Let us know what your musical needs and budget are and we will work with you to give you the best music possible at an affordable price.
Does the band bring all its equipment or do we need to supply any instruments (a piano for example) or equipment (extra speakers etc.)?
We will bring our own equipment, instruments, speakers, microphones, etc. We do need electrical power available in the immediate area you wish the band to set up. If you have a house sound system, let us know if you would like to use it to ougment our equipment.
What does the band typically wear?
We always come dressed for the occasion. We will always check with you to find out what would be appropriate.
How many hours are included in a package?
That depends on the party. We do not book for less than 2 hours, simply because the setup, etc. takes time. We can comfortably play up to a 4 hour job. Please call so we can discuss.
How do you handle song requests?
As stated earlier, we can accommodate nearly all special song requests that are made in advance. Understand that our band comes to your event with prepared set lists, principally to help keep the music flowing without long pauses between songs. During our performance, song requests will be noted, and if possible, played during the next set.
Can you act as Master of Ceremonies?
Yes, and we'd be happy to do so. Please let us know any specifics, i.e. Introduce speakers, tell people when dinner is served, any other announcements.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you change your mind, or cancel the event we would expect 25% of the fee. This is to reimburse us simply for lost opportunities. If you change the date of your event and the band is able to accommodate the date change, we would do so at no charge.
